Miriam Finnerty is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, Western Australia, where she receiving a Bachelor Degree in Counselling. In 2020 she will complete a BA (Hons) in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from ICPPD. Prior to leaving Australia, Miriam specialised in addiction counselling and upon her return to Ireland has worked in both addiction and general counselling and psychotherapy.
Miriam values the privilege of working with people and providing support that they otherwise might not receive. She believes strongly in the necessity of building a professional, ethical and empathetic therapeutic relationship. She respects that you are the expert in your life and offers a warm, supportive, non-judgmental safe space to explore and empower you on your journey. Miriam is constantly upskilling and learning through her work with her clients, further research, supervision, personal and professional development. The invaluable experience Miriam has gained has enabled her to move back to Ireland and commence her practice in Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland.
In order to ensure that people who are in rural locations or cannot get to a face to face session, Miriam provides video and phone call services to gain access to a highly qualified counselling professional.
